Real men do dishes...

Last night we went to an area Clergy Gathering, which included a potluck. It was cold and dreary, but really great to get out of the house.

We met at one of the other area churches. After it was all done, three male pastors (one of them Mark) and I did the dishes by hand. They washed and rinsed...I dried.

I commented to them that it had been years since I had washed dishes by hand and that it reminded me of being at a big family gathering at Nana's house. The only difference was that the men in my family rarely helped with the clean up--it was always the women clearing the table, washing the dishes, and cleaning up the kitchen. And there I was, surrounded by three men with dish-pan hands. I told them that they must all be very secure in their masculinity. They laughed.

Ah, the joys of being married to a pastor!
