Moving and other stuff...
This morning I realized that it has been just over a month since I last wrote here; I'll add a quick update:
I am writing this entry from Florida. I came here for a job interview, and I am hoping and praying that I get this position. It's everything I would like in a job as I work my way back into an IT role: interesting work, great people, strong benefits package and good compensation.
Realtors have been showing our house, and most buyers really like it but no one has made an offer. Since we can't really afford to make a mortgage payment in Kansas while renting or buying another house in Florida, Mark will go to Florida and live rent-free with Mom until the house is sold...but if I get a job the entire situation changes. With my paycheck we will be able to afford housing in Florida and at the same time pay our mortgage.
The interview went very well; I was scheduled to be at the office from 11:30am-1:30pm...but we didn't finish up until 3:15pm! I met with the director and four other managers. (As an aside, Nana thinks that I must definitely have the job because they took so long with me...I sure hope she is right!). The hiring director advised that I would hear from her no later than close of business on Thursday. Please keep our little family in your prayers; the transition to Florida would be so much easier if we could all move down together!
While down here I spent most of one day with a realtor that has been assisting us. At first we thought it would be possible to find housing near the church, but prices in south Pinellas are outrageous. I think we will be facing a long commute in order to find something that appeals to us.
I'll post something by Thursday to let you all know what happens!
