July update...

It's been a good month, with the exception of one big loss. My friend Holly died in an accident; a semi-truck ran a red light and hit her car. Her husband says that Holly probably died instantly.

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this. I first met Holly in kindergarten, at Lechner Elementary School in Berea. We have a lot of history...

I'm going to keep her guestbook active - I sent an email to legacy.com and am waiting to hear back...

For some happier news:

• Yes, she made the club team! Miss K. is SO excited...
• We had a great trip back to Kansas. I met some more of DD's birth family - her uncle's family, her grandmother - and we all had a great time. Her grandma brought baby pictures, which was especially kind. We also saw many former parishioners at our old church - it was sure great to visit with them. And of course we saw Monica and met her new boyfriend. He reminds me of DH...
• DD will be off to summer camp for a week in July.
• Dear friends Chris & Betsy will be visiting the Sunshine State next month!
